Why a Rucksack Can Be a Lifeline

To many of us, a rucksack is something you use for school, work, or travel. But for someone living on the streets, it can be a lifeline.

Our rucksacks are carefully packed with practical, thoughtful items:

  • A sleeping bag
  • A sleeping mat
  • A bivvy bag
  • Warm hat, gloves and socks
  • Basic toiletries
  • A flask

Each bag is designed to meet immediate needs and provide some comfort and dignity in an incredibly tough situation.

But it’s not just about what’s inside the bag — it’s about the message it sends:
💬 “You matter. Someone cares.”

Colin, a former rough sleeper who supported our work, shared how much of a difference something like this can make. “If I’d had one of these rucksacks back then, it would have made a huge difference,” he told us.
